The Sims 4 December Update: Over 40 New Fixes and Improvements Announced
EA and Maxis have shared a detailed look at the upcoming December 2025 update for The Sims 4, expected to launch on December 2 at 19:00 CET. The patch will include more than 40 bug fixes reported by the community, addressing long-standing gameplay issues across multiple expansion packs — from Seasons to Cottage Living.
Top 5 Fixes Coming in December
- 🔹 Sims now wear proper clothing under the pixel blur — no more visual bugs in the naked mosaic (Base Game).
- 🔹 Traveling between worlds will no longer trigger the unwanted “Seasons loading screen.”
- 🔹 Male Sims from the Gallery will no longer speak in unnaturally high voices.
- 🔹 Fixed the critical Error Code 123:b378c837 crash linked to ghost Sims in “Hustle to Business.”
- 🔹 Developers report progress on the bug where children were removed from households for no reason — a fix is in testing for Life & Death.
Base Game Fix Highlights
Several general quality-of-life fixes are on the way. Sims will stop sleeping through loud radios, teen aspirations will now transfer correctly to adulthood, and a few quirky issues — like Sims walking around nude in front of toddlers — are finally gone. A visual overhaul has also added 27 new furniture color variants after the team rebalanced some classic objects, such as the “Armchair with Arrrms” and “Captain Rodrigo Dining Chair.”
Pack-Specific Fixes
Each expansion and stuff pack gets its own share of improvements:
- Adventure Awaits: Custom venue templates now display and follow the correct schedules.
- Horses & Cats: Pet adoption bugs and household slot limits have been corrected.
- High School Years: The invisible “Corn Dog” texture is now visible again.
- Seasons: Children and teens can now donate to charities as Scouts.
- Get to Work: Police computers and hospital consoles are once again repairable.
What’s Coming Next in 2026
The Sims team has already confirmed several issues under review for the next update, expected in January 2026. These include missing gallery uploads, makeup category issues for toddlers, idle Sims who ignore infants, and missing graduation photos. Developers are also testing a new save file boost system that could improve stability for PC players.
Overall, this update looks like another significant community-driven patch following the 150+ fixes introduced earlier this month. It’s clear that the Maxis team is continuing its Quality of Life roadmap, one batch of bug squashes at a time.
