Build Your Dynasty: The Sims 4 Royalty & Legacy Expansion Is Coming (Feb 12, 2026)
EA just revealed a new Expansion Pack: The Sims 4 Royalty & Legacy, and it’s basically “dynasty drama mode” turned on at full volume. The new world is called Ondarion — a coastal kingdom where families fight for status, scandals spread fast, and your Sim’s name can become a legend… or a warning.
New World: Ondarion (3 Regions + a “Double-Life” Lot Type)
Ondarion comes with three distinct regions, each tied to powerful dynasties. EA describes them as very different vibes: Dambele (art + community spaces), Verdemar (sea + outlaws + nobles), and Bellacorde (romance + opulence + candlelit drama).
One detail that sounds especially fun: a new Backroom Lot type — it can behave like a Library/Gym/Museum in the daytime, but at night it transforms into a nightclub depending on how you build it.
Dynasty + Nobility Systems (Yes, Titles Can Spread Through the Family)
The pack introduces a new Dynasty System and a Nobility / Royal career path. The basic idea: your Sim can rise through noble ranks, collect influence, and eventually fight for the throne. And once you have titles… your spouse and kids can inherit them too.
EA also teased dynasty management actions that are made for generational storytelling: choosing an heir, marking someone as an outcast, expelling Sims, or even trying to usurp leadership. So it’s not just “family tree roleplay” — it sounds like gameplay built around it.
Scandals, Powershifts, and New “Fairytale Chaos”
This pack leans into storybook twists. There are “Powershifts” (think magical/fable events), like pulling a Sword in the Stone, enchanted romance moments, or using an Enchanted Mirror to uncover truths.
And yes — there’s a full Scandals System. Scandals can be small (messy mistakes) or huge (forbidden romances, illegitimate heirs, forged family stories). Your Sim can respond in different ways: apologize, deny, monetize it (yes, write a book), or weaponize it against rivals.
Skill + Events: Swordsmanship, Duels, Secret Passageways
Royalty & Legacy adds a new level 10 skill: Swordsmanship, with duels that can influence romance, money, promotions, and rivalries. There are also Swordsmanship Tournaments as a goaled event.
Another big one: Secret Passageways. They work as teleport shortcuts between passageways you place (or discover) — and EA says they can unlock a new WooHoo location and even lead to… a new dramatic death type linked to a “cuckoo malfunction.” (Classic Sims.)
Release Date + Grand Bundle Window
The Expansion Pack launches on February 12, 2026. EA also mentioned a Grand Bundle offer window running from January 15 to March 15, 2026, including the Expansion Pack plus extra digital content and two kits: Tea Time Solarium and Silver Screen Style.
